Preparing Your Home for the Holidays

It’s almost the most wonderful time of the year!

A key component of feeling festive is decorating your home with seasonal pieces to get in the holiday spirit. Holiday decor will be especially important this year, considering we’ve had to stay home more than we ever anticipated. To help you make these holidays extra special, we’ve compiled a list of tips and our favorite products to guide you

1. Choose your Color Palette

The best part of decorating for the holidays is that it’s totally up to you and your taste! While some decorators choose the same color palette (i.e. red and green) every year, it’s always nice to switch it up. Some possibilities are white, gold, silver, red, natural/wood, and deep holiday greens. No matter what palette you decide to go with, commit to it and your home will look uniform, festive, and cozy.

2. Include Pops of Red

When you think of the holidays, no matter if it’s Thanksgiving or Christmas, the color red should come to mind! Though we just discussed the benefits of choosing one color palette and stick to it, adding little touches and statement pieces will easily have your home feeling festive.

Here are some of our favorite red options:

3. Light Up the Room

Good lighting completely changes the ambiance in a room. Warm, dim light sets the mood for the holiday and provides a relaxing atmosphere. Floor lamps are great at lighting up bigger spaces, while a table lamp adds warmth and style to any space.

4. Spare No Room

Your holiday decor shouldn’t stop in the living room  -- spread the cheer around the whole house! Put a wreath in your kitchen, candles, and lighting in the dining room, add pops of color in your entryway -- the possibilities are endless.
