All applicants to the P/J with French as a Second Language Focus stream or the J/I with French Teachable stream within the Bachelor of Education program are required to complete a French Proficiency Test as part of their application. There is no cost associated with taking the French Proficiency Test, but you must complete both online components, including:
The written examination is an online assessment using ³Ô¹ÏÍø’s learning management system, MyLearningSpace. You will receive instructions to log onto to access the French Language Proficiency Test using the same email submitted with your application to ³Ô¹ÏÍø.
The written test consists of three parts:
You will have 1.5 hours to complete the entire three-part test.
Once the quizzes and written work have been evaluated with a grade of 70% or above, you will receive an email inviting you to the oral interview.
If you receive a grade of 70% or higher on the written test, you will be invited (by email) to complete Part 2 of the evaluation consisting of an oral interview over Zoom. During this interview, you will interact one-on-one in real-time with a French language assessor (e.g. Board FSL consultant or FSL faculty member). The Zoom interview will be entirely 'en français'.
The oral test will take approximately 20 minutes, but you will be asked to remain in a waiting room on Zoom from 7 to 9 p.m. or until your interview has been completed.
