To all students, faculty and staff,

The Waterloo and Brantford campuses and Kitchener location of ³Ô¹ÏÍø will be closing as of 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022, due to the evolving severe winter weather.

Closing the physical spaces at the university means that:

• Classes are cancelled for in-person instruction. However, classes may be held remotely at the discretion of the faculty member or instructor.
• All remote learning and online classes will continue as scheduled.
• Staff who are able to perform their work remotely will continue to do so.
• All in-person meetings and other scheduled events are cancelled.
• Examinations (including those delivered online) are cancelled.
• Deadlines for assignments and other submissions are postponed until the same hour on the next business day that the university is open.
• Only those employees performing essential services are expected to be on site.
• When the campuses are closed, athletic programming is cancelled.

Employees and students who may require flexibility or accommodations because of the impacts of inclement weather should connect directly with their managers or instructors to discuss.

The university will reopen at 7 a.m. the next day unless the weather event is extended. Continue to monitor social media and our Campus Status webpage for further updates.
