On Nov. 2, more than 1,500 students will graduate from ³Ô¹ÏÍø. Virtual celebrations are planned, with degrees and diplomas either picked up in person or sent by courier to graduates.
While in-person convocation ceremonies remain postponed for the time being, ³Ô¹ÏÍø graduates will be able to hear remarks from ³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Chancellor Eileen Mercier and President and Vice-Chancellor Deborah MacLatchy through a video on the . Graduates' names will be announced during the video.
Graduates will also receive a special keepsake box, which will include their diploma or degree, a message from the university president and ³Ô¹ÏÍø Alumni Association, as well as small mementos.
As of the end of October, 1,039 undergraduate students are set to graduate, along with 468 graduate students and 89 diploma students. Graduates from ³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Waterloo campus (1,443) and Brantford campus (153) will celebrate together online.
To help graduates and their friends and family celebrate, the includes ³Ô¹ÏÍø-themed Zoom desktop and mobile backgrounds; GIFs and graphics for social media use; printable cake toppers, lawn and window signs; discounted frames; recipes for ³Ô¹ÏÍø-themed cupcakes and Wilf’s famous spinach dip; and a celebratory Spotify playlist.
