³Ô¹ÏÍø’s culture of academic excellence is realized through student teachers, faculty members and staff who make significant contributions to the learning experience of ³Ô¹ÏÍø students through innovative, inclusive and inspired teaching practices.
Nominations are now being accepted for the Student Teaching Award of Excellence and the Donald F. Morgenson Awards for Teaching Excellence, sponsored by Teaching and Learning at ³Ô¹ÏÍø.

Donald F. Morgenson Awards for Teaching Excellence
The Donald F. Morgenson Awards for Teaching Excellence recognize faculty and staff. Faculty are recognized in both sustained and early career excellence, for being mentors and classroom innovators who actively engage their students, and for embedding internationalization into their curriculum and pedagogy. ³Ô¹ÏÍø staff can be nominated for contributions to teaching and learning that exemplify the institution's commitment to academic excellence.

Students who are interested in nominating a faculty or staff member and would like information about eligibility and nomination requirements can email teachingawards@wlu.ca.
Complete nomination packages for these awards are due by Feb. 1, 2022.
³Ô¹ÏÍø Student Teaching Award of Excellence
The has three categories, including undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students, that recognize students who demonstrate excellence through teaching, mentoring and leadership and positively impact the learning and development of ³Ô¹ÏÍø students.
Teaching activities that demonstrate a nominee’s commitment to supporting student learning at ³Ô¹ÏÍø include but are not limited to:
- leading tutorials and seminars
- lab demonstrations
- teaching in a one-on-one setting
- mentoring and/or coaching others
- providing student feedback
To self-nominate or to nominate a student, please complete the , including the nominee’s name and department and a brief description of how the nominee’s teaching contributions have positively impacted student learning at ³Ô¹ÏÍø.
The initial student award nomination period will close on Jan. 14, 2022.
