³Ô¹ÏÍø’s award-winning faculty are an important part of our commitment to academic excellence, and they want to see you succeed both in and out of the classroom and after graduation.
Read on to see how ³Ô¹ÏÍø's professors can support you during university.
Professors are here to teach you and they want to see you be successful in your studies. Be sure to ask them questions if you don’t understand something or want more information. They are there to help you!
You may have heard the term “office hours” but might not know what that means. Office hours are when professors are available to meet with you outside of the classroom to answer your questions and help you with your coursework. And they can also help you find the support you need outside of academics.
“³Ô¹ÏÍø faculty and staff pride themselves on the exceptional level of support they provide our students inside and outside the classroom. Chat with your professors during their office hours, meet with your academic advisor, gain work experience through co-op and other work-integrated-learning opportunities, speak with a writing consultant, or participate in a wide range of activities at our athletics centres.
Whatever your academic and life goals, we are here to support you on your journey to become an inspired career-ready leader of tomorrow.”

Dean, Faculty of Human and Social Sciences

You’ll get to know so many people at ³Ô¹ÏÍø, and that includes your professors. And they want to get to know you, too! And building good relationships can lead to other opportunities, like research or even working as a teaching assistant.
Professors are more than teachers – they are also experts in their fields and can be a great source of career advice. Even if you’re not sure what you want to do with your degree, talk with your professors! They may help you discover a career path you hadn’t thought of yet.
“I have a meeting with my accounting professor and he's going to give me some career counseling in accounting versus finance.”
"³Ô¹ÏÍø professors are committed to preparing students for the world that’s coming. In the Lazaridis School, we believe immersive learning is key to this preparation, which is why our professors embed real-world opportunities in their classes to ensure students learn in the kinds of environments they’ll experience when they graduate.
