This fall, ³Ô¹ÏÍø has many opportunities to continue lifelong learning. As we welcome the excitement and energy of a new academic year, ³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Office of Continuing Education begins a new round of programs and courses geared to adult, professional, and lifelong learners. 

These courses and credentials from ³Ô¹ÏÍø are flexible, fast, led by industry experts, and geared toward specific industries, skills and topics.  

A Message from the Director of the Office of Continuing Education

“Building on the mission, expertise, and resources of ³Ô¹ÏÍø, the Office of Continuing Education provides strategic leadership and direction to advance continuing education and lifelong learning opportunities," says Paul Jenkins, Director of ³Ô¹ÏÍø Continuing Education. 

"As the new director, I am looking forward to working closely with our partners, accrediting associations, and the community to create responsive continuing education programming to serve the diverse and evolving educational and lifelong learning needs of today’s fast-paced world."

Canadian Risk Management (CRM) Certificate – starts Sept. 14 

The world is changing faster than ever before. So are the associated risks. 

Learning how to identify, analyze, assess, and control exposure to risk will enable you to help your company or organization tailor their strategies and operations to match the threats they face. 

³Ô¹ÏÍø’s industry-recognized Risk Management Certificate program will enable you to pursue the Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation and qualify you for a rewarding career in the risk field.  

The CRM is a widely recognized professional qualification that provides risk managers with a foundation in the knowledge and skills necessary to identify, assess, monitor and limit risks.

Mental Health Skills for Educators Micro-Credentials – starts Oct. 2 

Over 1.2 million children and youth are affected by mental illness, but less than one-third connect with a mental health professional. Educators know this first-hand.  

With youth mental health concerns on the rise post-pandemic, a growing number of elementary and high school students are facing mental health concerns.  

This series of micro-credentials equips educators (teachers, principals, support staff), and anyone who works with children, proactive and preventative tools to support young people experiencing the most common mental health challenges.

³Ô¹ÏÍø Association for Lifelong Learning (LALL) – fall lecture series starts Oct. 5 

Learning for fun and community is always possible with LALL!

These engaging lectures are geared toward those who love learning for community, personal growth, and fun. Discover a new favourite topic this fall. Twelve lectures are available including:

• An introduction to poetry from Canada’s former poet laureate
• Indigenous subjects like "Indigenous Peoples and the Climate Crisis" or "Being a Good Treaty Partner"
• History topics ranging from Ancient Greece to modern politics
• More history, science and arts topics!
