We invite you to join us on Thursday, June 3rd from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. in giving back to our community through this online event.
Show your support by donating! for the event at Eventbrite, starting May 3, 2021. A Zoom link will be provided upon event registration. The first 125 registrants will be eligible to receive a handmade bowl created by a member of the Waterloo Potters’ Workshop.
In the spirit of giving back to our community, RLAG, in collaboration with the Waterloo Potters’ Workshop, has served as a venue host for Empty Bowls for the past 12 years. This charitable fundraising initiative is designed to raise awareness of hunger in our local community with 100% of all proceeds going directly to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
This year’s event is sponsored by the ³Ô¹ÏÍø Alumni Association and will include guest speakers, soup demonstrations and a very special featuring items provided by the ³Ô¹ÏÍø Bookstore, the Waterloo Potters’ Workshop and a unique work of art by local artist Laurie Wonfor Nolan in response to the musical improvisation of ³Ô¹ÏÍø music students Tim Maguire and Ramya Ramachandran. Definitely an event you don’t want to miss!
Last year’s Empty Bowls online event raised $10,547, doubling previous annual goals. Since the pandemic began, there has been a significant increase in demand for assistance at The Food Bank. In light of the growing need in the community, ³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Empty Bowls event hopes to surpass last year’s total by seeking a new fundraising goal of $15,000, which will provide 45,000 meals to families in need.
We hope to see you at the event!
