Elvera Froese conducts the Maureen Forrester Singers, ³Ô¹ÏÍø’s treble-voiced chorus, named in 2009 to honour the great Canadian contralto and former Chancellor of ³Ô¹ÏÍø. The choir sings a wide range of repertoire in various languages from Medieval chant to new compositions including music written by ³Ô¹ÏÍø student composers along with classical repertory. The choir sings at ³Ô¹ÏÍø and local venues and in June 2015 won first place in their category in the National Competition for Amateur Choirs hosted by Chorale Canada.

As collaborative pianist Elvera coaches voice students and accompanies them in recital on campus and beyond, including at the Canadian National Competition and the E-Gré Competition. Past experience includes that of repetiteur, co-director of opera excerpts, Chorusmaster and taking a chamber opera to Vocal Festival, France. Until the church music program disbanded, Elvera directed the WLU Chapel Choir. As an instructor she taught Vocal Literature for many years and presently teaches a class for first year voice students in Lyric Diction.
