How Jennifer Finds Inspiration

In accordance with the ³Ô¹ÏÍø motto "Inspiring Lives of Leadership and Purpose," who is someone that you aspire (either someone current or in the future) to inspire? 

During my career at ³Ô¹ÏÍø I have been fortunate to work with countless exemplary leaders, colleagues, and students who inspire lives of leadership and purpose. I aspire to inspire the next generation of ³Ô¹ÏÍø alumni to pursue their future academic and professional goals. As a proud ³Ô¹ÏÍø alumna myself I hope to encourage ³Ô¹ÏÍø students to set goals and pursue their objectives. I have been fortunate to have had those mentors in my own journey that I have looked up to and hope I can inspire others to pursue roles in technology and digital transformation as well.

Working at ³Ô¹ÏÍø, what inspires you?

Collaborating with colleagues, team members, faculty, and students to create the best educational environment that we can for our students inspires me. We have the ability to innovate and influence higher education and the experience our students, faculty, and staff have at this institution. The opportunity to be a change maker in implementing business processes and technology solutions for ³Ô¹ÏÍø inspires me daily.

How Jennifer Inspires Others

In what ways do you see yourself as a leader within the ³Ô¹ÏÍø community?

Within the ³Ô¹ÏÍø community I believe I lead by example and positively collaborate with those around me. I believe leadership comes from encouraging teamwork, collaboration and communication to implement transformative initiatives. This is paramount in leading at ³Ô¹ÏÍø. Taking the time to communicate effectively, connect with others, and delegating to those who are best suited to complete activities is also key in leading teams, while inspiring the group towards a common goal.

What is unique about your ³Ô¹ÏÍø community?

The sense and feeling that ICT, and ³Ô¹ÏÍø as a whole, is a community and we can rely on one another. ³Ô¹ÏÍø is all about creating a community that supports and inspires students, faculty and staff. In working with my colleagues in ICT and across the university, I am constantly impressed by their willingness to collaborate, contribute innovative ideas, and engage in creative problem solving that occurs to drive initiatives forward.

How does your career at ³Ô¹ÏÍø exemplify your commitment to inspiring lives of leadership and purpose?

Throughout my various roles at ³Ô¹ÏÍø I have been dedicated to inspiring lives of leadership and purpose in the activities and projects that I have been fortunate to be involved in. In implementing process reengineering and digital transformation initiatives it is so important as a leader to also commit to professional development for your team, hold people accountable and demonstrate professional behaviours. I have had the continued opportunity to collaborate with others and develop professionally here at ³Ô¹ÏÍø, learning new skills, and help others in this university community.
